History of IEEE Egypt Section
IEEE Egypt Section was established on September 8th, 1955, as the 2nd IEEE section in Region 8.
Egypt section has hosted the 119th region 8 meeting in Cairo, October 2022.
Egypt section has joined Africa Council in 2022.
In August 2023, from 24th to 27th, Egypt section is hosting North Africa Student and Young Professionals Congress. The hosting university is Egypt University of Informatics in the knowledge city, new administrative capital.

Computer, Power and Energy, Communication, Antenna and Propagation, Education, Computational Intelligence, Circuits and Systems, System Council, Power Electronics, Technology Management and many others.
The Egypt Section forms a chapter of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society in May 2012.

Egypt section has many affinity groups as follows:
Young Professionals, Women in Engineering, Consultants Network is established by Islam Tharwa Abdel Halim as an interim chair in 2023.
Conferences
Egypt Section is characterized by many successful conferences that are hosted by main universities, including ICENCO hosted by Cairo University, ICCES hosted by Ain Shams University, NILES hosted by Nile University, JAC-ECC hosted by Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology, MIUCC hosted by Misr International University.
