Biography

Jesse Marsten (IRE Member Senior Member, 1943; and Fellow, 1957) was born in Hungary on 1 January 1897. He received the B.S. degree in 1917 from the City College of New York.

From 1917 to 1919, Marsten was an Assistant Engineer at the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America, Aldene, New Jersey. He then joined the Radio Corporation of America, New York, New York., as a Broadcast Transmission Engineer. He was Chief Engineer at the Freed-Eisemann Radio Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, during the years 1925 to 1930.

In 1930 Marsten joined the International Resistance Company, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was Vice President and then Senior Vice President. He retired from this firm in 1961, but continued to serve as a Consultant.
