History
IEEE established the Regional Activities Board as one of the major boards reporting to the Board of Directors in 1969. The members of this board included the 10 members of the Board of Directors who had been elected from the 10 IEEE regions, and a Vice President for Regional Activities elected by the IEEE Assembly. Previously, the regional directors had met less formally before Board meetings to discuss matters of mutual interest. In 2009, The Regional Activities Board was renamed the Member and Geographic Activities Board.
