Curtis Siller


Biography

Curtis Siller received his B.S.E.E., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where he majored in applied mathematics, plasma physics, and electromagnetic theory. After graduation he joined Bell Laboratories, working in the areas of: antenna, propagation, and communication theory, digital signal processing, Synchronous Transfer Mode, video-on-demand, packet network architectures, and cable-modem and wireless standards. After over 30 years with Bell, he became CTO at Cetacean Networks and Rivulet Communications. He also founded an active consulting practice, Enginnovation, which focused on intellectual property. Curtis has published extensively, including: nearly 80 refereed papers, co-editor of a book on synchronous optical networks, and contributor to four other reference texts. He was awarded eight patents, is an AT&T Bell Labs Fellow, an IEEE Life Fellow, and has received numerous industry and professional awards. He has helped organize over 30 conferences and has given invited talks at numerous international venues, notably as a Bell Labs Technology Forum speaker.
