Yuichi Iwadate is the head of three-dimensional image research division in NHK the science technology research laboratories of NHK (Japan broadcasting Corp.), Tokyo Japan. He received B.E. and Dr. Eng. degrees from Doshisha University, Kyoto, in 1981 and 1993, respectively. He has been engaged in research on HDTV system, digital transmission and three-dimensional image processing since 1985. From 1998 to 2000, he worked at the ATR media integration and communications research laboratories, Kyoto, as a group leader. He is currently a guest professor at graduate school of information systems in the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo. He is a member of the institute of image information and television engineers (ITE), the institute of electronics information and communication engineers (IEICE) and the virtual reality society of Japan (VRSJ).
