Takahito Kawanishi is Senior Research Scientist, Research Planning Section at NTT Communication Science Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation. He received the B.E. degree in information science from Kyoto University, Kyoto, the M.E and the Ph.D. degree in information science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Nara, in 1996, 1998, and 2006, respectively. He joined NTT Laboratories in 1998. He has worked in research areas such as computer vision and media recognition. His specialty is fast media search techniques. From 2004 to 2008, he worked in Plala Networks Inc.(Now NTT Plala) as a technical manager and designed Set-Top-Boxes and operational systems for IPTV and VoD services. He is currently engaged in R&D of online media content identification, monitoring and search systems to expand digital media content distribution on the network. He is a senior member of IEICE, and a member of IPSJ and JSIAM.
