Haruko Kawahigashi received the B.E. and D.Eng. degrees in from the University of Tokyo, in 1985 and 2001, respectively. She joined Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 1985, where she has been engaged in the development of high-speed multiplexers and in research on teletraffic control, and . Since 2000, she has been engaged in of defense networks, including , sensor networks, and . She is currently a chief researcher of R & D Center of Mitsubishi Electric Corp. Japan. She is a of IEEE, and a member of AOC (Association of Old Crows), AFCEA (Armed Forces Communication and Association), MORS (Military Society), IEICE (Institute of , Information and Communication Engineers) and the Society of Japan.
