About the Interviewee

Victor Jones earned his Bachelors and MBA degrees from McGill University in Montreal. Shortly after joining Canadian Pacific he was posted to BC to manage the coastal shipping division of CP Rail. He later joined Ventures West, which is a Vancouver based venture capital firm and it was during this time he first became involved in the BC Technology Industry and become known for his role at MDI, Mobile Data International, where he served as director until its $80 million sale to Motorola.

Victor remained with Ventures West where he served as Vice-President from 1979 to 1988. Since then he has served as CEO of several companies and taken the lead in financing and championing new technologies such as President of hyperWALLET Systems Inc., a successful internet payment services company. Later he became President of the BC Advanced Systems Institute enhancing collaborative industry-research partnerships.
