Standalone museum focused on the Argentinian petroleum heritage. It offers educational program in indoor/outdoor exhibition spaces. The museum stands on the site of the first commercial oil well drilled in Argentina, the Pozo N°2 in 1907. It was built by the Argentine state owned oil Company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales S. A. (YPF). The National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco manages the museum since its opening in December 13, 1987. The collections of the museum consist mainly of donations from the YPF.

Standalone museum mainly focused on the local petroleum exploration. It includes indoor/outdoor exhibition spaces. The Museum was founded in the 1980s by the Rio Grande do Norte state authorities, which still today provides for its maintenance. This institution proposes collections on the history of the state company Petrobras, together with artifacts, photos, films and equipment on the history of the oil discoveries in the state from 1943 to 1979.

University museum featured with unique geological indoor collections. The museum was built between 1986 a 1988 at the Universidad Surcolombiana by initiative of the Departamento de Petróleos (today Agencia Nacional de Hydrocarburos) and in cooperation with the state oil company Ecopetrol S.A. and others national partners from the oil sector. The School of engineering runs the museum, which is open free of charge to the public.

Standalone museum focused on the Colombian the national petroleum sector. It offers mainly outdoor exhibition spaces. The museum was opened in October 24, 1984 during the works of the First Colombian Oil Conference and financed by the state owned oil company Ecopetrol.

The national museum of art and general culture that displays petroleum and geological collection in several indoor galleries. The museum was established in 1892 by the Trinidad and Tobago authorities and still today is a public, government owned, institution.

Standalone outdoor park displaying artifacts used in the local petroleum fields. The museum is localized in the area considered the birthplace of the Venezuelan oil industry in the late 1870s. It was gradually established as Museum Park thanks to the donations of the Compañía Nacional Minera Petrolera del Táchira (CNMPT). The Parque Nacional El Tamá authority keeps the museum operative.

Museum of general culture that displays petroleum and geological collection in one dedicated pavilion. The Grand Centre High School students realized the oil exhibit in the early 2000s. This museum explains the history of the local oil & gas activities and runs under the authority of the Canadian Air Force.

The collections of the museum origins with the donations of the local entrepreneur Ron Carey and includes a great variety of artifacts related to the petroleum sector. Arts and sciences public museum focused on the Western Canadian art and culture and including a dedicated exhibition on petroleum. Founded in 1966 thanks to generous donations of the oil businessperson Eric Lafferty Harvie, the museum is today administrated by a trust. It hosts heterogeneous collections on the impact of the oil sector in the Alberta economy and society, and the most important documentary center on the oil industry known in Canada.

A small well preserved historical gas station. Gustavus fuel station is a pre-WW II replica Mobil gas station with working 1937 Wayne 60 model gas pumps and is also home to Alaska's only petroleum museum.

Standalone outdoor/indoor petroleum museum dedicated to the history of the local Conoco-Phillips refinery. The museum maintains active thanks to volunteers and lives on private donations. Founded in the early 1960s, It is located above the area previously occupied by

the Shell Research Laboratory. Visitors find original and restored machinery, tools, artifacts from the refinery, and even historical cars.

Standalone late 1920s’ Standard Oil Company of Indiana gas station completely restored indoor and outdoor. The gas station-museum owns to the City of Lafayette. It was built in 1927-28 and was in operation until 1979. In 1991, it was restored and opened to the public. Visitors can admire numerous memorabilia and understand how a gas station operated in the 1920s.

Standalone 1950s’ Texaco service station completely restored indoor and outdoor. It opens only by appointment. The Knightstown Chamber of Commerce and the Trump family keep operative the museum. The station owns to the Trumps since 1937 and was transformed in museum in 1996. Among the many original and well-preserved artifacts, visitors can admire very rare Texaco retails and marketing memorabilia.

Small stand-alone museum devoted to the local retailing of gasoline and lubricants. Volunteer personnel run the museum on a regular schedule and by appointment. The museum is a 1929’s completely restored petrol station owned by the local H. P. Sears Oil Company, which is still today the owner and supporter and it is promoted by the New York State Oil Producers Association (NYSOPA). It is the only surviving petrol station of its kind and perfectly preserved as the original plant.

Medium size stand-alone museum focused on the oil history of the area. Volunteer personnel run the museum on a regular schedule and by appointment. The museum born in 2001 and promoted by the New York State Oil Producers Association (NYSOPA). This is the main patron of the museum and finances its activities together with the donors committee Friends of the Museum. The collections constitute of four galleries and include rich body of pictures of people, landscapes and maps, numerous contemporary tools and devices from the oil fields; also, unique survived materials on the Allegany Refiners refinery close to the city of Bolivar established in 1934.

Comprehensive museum on the Allen County business, social and cultural history including a gallery on the Lima’s oil field. Members of the community organization of Allen County Historical Society and the local authorities run the museum on a regular schedule and by appointment. The Allen County Historical Society established the museum in 1954. It is among the most important museums of local history in Ohio and present a section on the area’s history of geology, local oil industry, started in 1885.

Comprehensive museum on the Hancock County heritage and history featuring a permanent oil exhibit. Resident museum staff operates on a regular schedule and by appointment. The museum was founded in 1970 by the initiative of local citizens and still today is a privately funded and independent no profit organization. The oil exhibit opens in 2014 and introduces visitors on the history of corporations like Marathon and Cooper to the City of Findlay and how the oil & gas business marked the development of the area. The same building hosts also the Museum’s historical automobile collection.

Corporate oil museum focused on tools and technology privately owned and administrated. The museum operates only by appointment with the Ken Miller Supply, Inc. managers. Ken Miller founded the company in 1959 and since then become a big collector of oilfield tools, machinery, and photos. Years later inaugurated an independent building featuring interesting and not common collections of oil tools and machineries used in the everyday work life in the oil filed.

Comprehensive museum on the Wood County business, social and cultural history including a small section on early Ohio oil heritage. Volunteers of the community organization The Wood County Historical Society run the museum on a regular schedule and by appointment. This institution is managed by the Wood County authorities and has a resident curator. It sustains mainly thanks to donations and sponsorships. Formerly house of the county infirmary, the museum opened in 1975 for Wood County Historical Society. Built in 1996, the oil exhibit extends on an outdoor yard and includes a derrick, steam boiler, a 1880s gas engine from Acme Sucker Rod Company of Toledo, gear works from the AB Company in Findlay, and shackle rods that connect the pump jacks.

Founded in 1966 by Guido Fisogni, the museum displays petrol pumps, license plates, compressors, oilers, advertising graphics, gadgets, games and blueprints. They are unique artifacts, faithfully restored, which represent the history of service stations from 1892 to 1990. The Company House is one of the four houses composing the Msheireb Museums Complex. The house is hosted in the building that was once used as the headquarters for Qatar’s first petroleum company. The complex is managed by private and government partners; it includes a library and organizes several educational activities. Outdoor public space dedicated to the industrial and economic past of Queensland. The site hosted since the 1870s one of the most important gasworks plants of the country. In 2001, the City of Brisbane decided a comprehensive requalification of the area and to valorize the Newstead Gasworks’ No.2 gasholder remnants and guide framing.

Government owned indoor display on oil geology and E&P tools. The collection was created along the past 40 years by the DMIRS and today managed by (GSWA). This is the only place in Australia where it is possible to admire jars of oil and condensate from the NW shelf, Carnarvon and Perth Basins. The latter, includes a sample of oil from Harriet 1, the discovery well of what was to become the first commercial offshore oil field in Western Australia.
