Biography

Julie A. Kirchner was born in 1956 in Keokuk, Iowa. In 1977 she graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in geology. She received her Master's degree in 1980 from the Forest and Wood Sciences Department at Colorado State University, with specialization in remote sensing.

In January of 1980, she joined the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center where she remained until May, 1982. She was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation at the Engineering and Research Center in Denver, Colorado.

Ms. Kirchner was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the American Society of Photogrammetry.
