IEEE PES Transformers Committee

The roots of the committee go back to 1918 when a subcommittee of the Standards Committee ‘No 8. Transformers’ was formed to contribute to the Standardization Rules of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE), the single common standard of the AIEE at that time. AIEE and Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) merged to form the IEEE in 1963.
