Our test F-107. The nose boom was part of the flight test instrumentation, and carried angle of attack and yaw vanes as well as pressure sensors for air speed and altitude measurement. The streamlined nuclear weapon shape can be seen partially embedded in fuselage bottom. It was a convenient place to install flight test instrumentation and recorders. NASA photo
