Biography
Dipankar Raychaudhuri and Narayan B. Mandayam have provided readers with an important research roadmap of emerging technologies in mobile communications and computing. Their paper, which appeared in the April 2012 issue of the "Proceedings of the IEEE" (vol. 100, no. 10, pp. 824–840), was one of the top 100 most downloaded IEEE papers of 2012 and reviews new strategic research areas in wireless communications and the applications they will enable. Drs. Raychaudhuri and Mandayam review the full range of wireless technologies, providing readers with the big picture of wireless technology evolution. They identify recent trends such as cognitive radio, vehicular networks, peer-to-peer networks, and location-aware pervasive computing networks.
An IEEE Fellow, Dr. Raychaudhuri is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Wireless Information Network Lab (WINLAB) at Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ, USA. Raychaudhuri is the recipient of the 2014 IEEE Donald G. Fink Award with Mandayam.
