Biography
Calvin Bopp had a background in radio broadcasting beginning in the 1950s when he attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Working for WLW/WSAI, he had novel experiences in remote pickup of baseball games and in climbing WLWs 700 foot "hot stick" radio tower.
He was involved in building High power transmitters for the Voice of America for the then superpower station at Bethany. 40 years later, after retirement he worked in England and France on Voice of America Projects. As Chief Engineer, he built the WLWT television station. Research and development projects in military and space electronics filled intervening years.
