Seventy-five Years of Progress in the Mineral Industry, 1871-1946 is a compilation of thirteen articles that focus on a range of the major branches of the mineral industry from the inception of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers (AIME) to the text's publication in 1946. Subject areas span mining geology, metal mining, ore dressing, the smelting and leaching of ores, iron and steel, nonferrous metallurgy, petroleum, coal mining, the anthracite industry, nonmetallics, mineral production, and mineral industry education. The work also includes AIME's Proceedings the the 75th Anniversary Celebration held in New York City in 1947 and lists of AIME past presidents.
