A Mining Engineer at Col di Lana was an address delivered at the annual dinner of the American Institute of Mining Engineers in 1923. Prince Gelasio Caetani, the Royal Italian ambassador to the United States, reminisces about his World War I efforts to blow up the Col di Lana, a cone shaped mountain in the Dolomitic Alps and a stronghold of the Austrian army. With the efforts of two other engineers, Bonfioli and Grimaldi, Prince Caetani successfully claimed Col di Lana for the Italian army.
