Biography

Vitold Belevitch (IRE Senior Member 1954 and Fellow 1961) was born in Helsinki, Finland, on 2 March 1921. He received the E.E. and M.E. degrees, in 1942, and the D.Sc. degree, in 1945, all from the University of Louvain, Belgium. From 1942 to 1957 he was in the Wire Transmission Department of Bell Telephone Mfg. Cy., Antwerp, Belgium.

In 1962, Belevitch was Director of the Comite d'Etude et d'Exploitation des Calculateurs Electroniques, Brussels, Belgium, and a Professor at the University of Louvain. By that time, he had also written two books on network theory (in French) and numerous articles.
