Help:Navigation box
Navigation boxes are helpful in navigation and should be placed on relevant individual pages.
You can create a navigation box using a form. Write the name of the page in the box below. Then, type all the requested information into the form and click "Save page". The navigation box is now created.
Now that the navigation box has been created, you can insert it onto a page. To do so, note the name of the navigation box Template you just created. Edit the source of the page. Scroll down to the desired spot where you would like the navigation box to be inserted. Type {{Name of page}}. The "Template:" prefix is not required. For example: {{Automotive navigation}}.
To edit a navigation box, there are two options:
- Navigate to the navigation box's Template: page. Click "Go" > "Edit with form".
- Navigate to a page that includes the navigation box. The box should have a button with the text "Edit". Clicking that button will load a popup form. Note: After saving in the popup form, you will need to reload the page to see your changes.
There is a hidden field in every navigation box Template page that contains the name of that Template page (including the Template: prefix). If a navigation box Template page is ever renamed, you will also need to edit the source of that page and type the new page name. For example, if the page named "Template:Automotive navigation" is renamed to "Template:Automobile box", you will need to edit the source of the page named "Template:Automobile box". Find the line that says:
|Page name=Automotive navigation
Change it to:
|Page name=Automobile box
