The Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) was founded in 1970 as a division of Xerox corporation and made a number of advancements in laser printing, networking, personal computing and VLSI throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In 2002, PARC was transformed into a wholly owned subsidiary.
