Charles K. Alexander

Charles K. Alexander, IEEE President, 1997, is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cleveland State University. He served earlier as the Dean of the Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University, Dean of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University at Northridge, and Acting Dean of the College of Engineering at Temple University.
Biography
Dr. Alexander received his his BS degree from Ohio Northern University and his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University. He has served as a consultant to numerous corporate and governmental organizations and is involved in research and development projects ranging from solar energy to software engineering.
Dr. Alexander has taught at Ohio University, Temple, California State University Northridge, Tennessee Technological University and Youngstown State University. He was currently Managing Director of the Wright Center for Sensor Systems (WCSSE) and Professor of Electrical Engineering at Cleveland State University and was recently. Dean of Fenn College of Engineering there. He has won awards in recognition of his outstanding teaching and research.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and was IEEE president in 1997.
