After graduating with a BS in Applied Physics at UCLA and a short career in electronics, I went to medical school. I graduated from USC Medical School in 1965. I practiced in family medicine in South Central Los Angeles until suffering the after effects of a heart attack and retired early in 1992. Since then I have devoted a significant portion of time in researching the professional career of my late father, Andrew V. Haeff. My father obtained a PhD froom Cal Tech in 1932 and after spending an extra year working on his first patent, began his career at RCA in 1934. He was a member and later IRE (IEEE) Fellow.
