Plaque Location

Do we have a more precise description of the plaque's mounting location and do we have permission of the site owner to place the plaque there. From what I read it just says in the vicinity of Apple headquarters.

This needs to be addressed before approval.

It is planned to be placed at the Apple Headquarters. The actual location depends upon when the plaque is placed. Apple is building a new headquarters with plans for it to be finished in 2016, If the plaque is placed before 2016 it will go into their current headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino. It is planned that the plaque would go into the lobby of the Apple headquarters and that the pubic could have access during regular business hours. Both the current and new headquarters are located in Cuptertino, CA.

Does this provide the required response that you folks are looking for.

If it is initially placed in the current HQ, will it be moved when the new HQ is occupied? Also, we will need a letter from Apple agreeing to have the plaque installed.

It makes sense to move it and I am sure that is what would happen. The letter from Apple says that Apple is agreeing to have the plaque installed in a publically accessible area at their headquarters. What more would you need on this?

I saw at least one suggestions to bring the importance of the Apple II to the front of the citation.

Do you want me to write another citation proposal or will you folks do a rewrite?

Please let me know.

The plaque location needs to be firmed up with approval in place, but, reflective of the next several comments, the plaque citation also, and probably first, needs to be firmed up prior to endorsement of this IEEE Milestone proposal which in principle I support.

Apple has given permission, however they asked that the permission letter not be posted to the site.

I support the milestone with caution on the term "...the first...".
