Notgeld paper money from the town of Hamelin where the Pied Piper got rid of a rat infestation but later abducted the town children. The Notgeld or emergency money was printed by many towns in Germany during the time of hyperinflation. Hameln was close to Herford where I was stationed in 1048 - 1950. Scanned by Michael S P Lucas.
